Today’s post comes from a guest blogger, Diobel Mendoza-Castner!

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is more than a timeshare. True – the initial investment can be a surprising blow to one’s wallet. However, when my husband and I initially bought into DVC, we knew that it would only be the beginning of what has been a magical journey. Being a DVC member has provided us with a sense of security and ease when planning our vacations to Walt Disney World, or even staycations here at the Disneyland Resort. To date, we have been fortunate to stay at the following DVC resorts: The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge (our honeymoon), Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, & the Villas at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. We are also planning our fourth WDW vacation and are excited to be staying in a studio at the newly renovated Polynesian Villas & Bungalows! BCV

So, what’s the big deal? What type of person or family is the right fit for DVC? Well, simply put, if you are a Disney Parks fanatic and have plans to make frequent (annual or even bi-annual) visits to the resorts, DVC is for you! DVC is more than a “hotel”; it truly is a community. There are various member-only events throughout the year (in California and Florida), as well as merchandise, food, and event discounts and special offers.
One of these special events is a new DVC Halloween Event on October 31, 2015 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. The special event is being held in the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. The cost to attend is $15 per person (reasonably cheap for Disney standards) and includes drinks and snacks (see flyer below), a family photo with popular Disney Characters (which is included), a spooky dance party, and activities (i.e., face painting, carnival games, hay bale maze). Members can reserve the event beginning September 1, 2015 through DVC Member Services (800-800-9800). Now if I was at the Walt Disney World resort this Halloween, I would definitely do this with my boys. It’s a nice break from the parks and I know they would have an amazing time.
In California DVC Member Movie Nights is fast approaching! Member Movie Nights is a complimentary screening of various movies at the Pier View Terrance in the Grand Californian Resort & Spa. Members, and their guests, will also be provided with refreshments during the film screening. The exact day and time of this event has yet to be announced; however, I will report back on this member-only event when it becomes available!

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Stay tuned for more experiences from our DVC membership!
