Last Friday was Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, and it seemed as though all of Anaheim was ready to celebrate.
Guests, cast members, characters, and Disney Legends arrived in their sparkling best for the rededication of Disneyland.
It was announced during the rededication that Disneyland will be surprising local businesses with grants adding up to 1 million dollars. The “Million Dollar Dazzle” will take place every month of the Diamond Celebration. The first grant was given to the Girl Scouts of Orange County, who were present at the ceremony. There was also a brief heartfelt speech by Richard Sherman, who then performed “Feed the Birds” from “Mary Poppins,” accompanied by Ashley Brown, who originated the role of Mary Poppins on Broadway.
In addition to the rededication ceremony, special merchandise was released for purchase, and guests were treated to free diamond cupcakes throughout the day.
Even the Mad T Party dedicated a special performance for the event! It was a very magical day in the parks.
